... MANIFESTO ...

V.I.T.R.I.O.L.(U.M.)

.'.

This manifesto is art in it's self... a form some are familiar, some obscure... take it with a grain of salt or take it to heart... as will as you may...

We that which ride ......... are self expressionists and visual communicators who have been raised in a world in which the techniques and apparatus we use and investigate with are spawned and evolved from a subculture of misfits and social outcasts (surf, skate, music). These pioneers felt the need to break away and blaze other trails. From suburban sprawls, subway halls, far islands, green rooms, cement jungles, and our own garages. Talented, idealists, artists, and athletes, for the love of inner solace that comes from these black arts. Exchanged by the progression of the self thru painful trial and error. Courage and Achievements set the bar for self/others to conquer and raze to the next, to push on and against. End on end, level over level These bloody roots fueled and pushed on by skinned knees, broken bones, and dreams. The drive with in our hearts brought out of adolescent angst transforming and freeing us on to adults... giving us eyes to view and draw lines few venture or can describe. This lifestyle binds friends and foe alike, with our own languages, spoken world wide. The process the journey emancipates and propitiate us in our rites of spring. We are beaconed from a different light over casting shadows of authority's might.
We here are purist in intention and strive for the roots/foundations only because we understand what the impetus handed us, from the beginning to the core held fast within our heart of hearts. Formed against all that was solicited to us by parents, teachers, corporations, and preachers a life of indoctrination sold like cattle for a taste of tang or a big mac. There are pursuits more worthy of such dissidence and unrest, but these are our own boundaries and fronts to explore and realize. Many cultural interventions, social marketing campaigns, books, magazines, exhibitions, educational tools, television programs, films all tools to prove our points and in turn now works against all that it originally stood for/against. We are a new demographic a statistical chart hung on corporate walls a number numberberd and checked. We propose a reversal... We propose a new priority in favor of a more useful, lasting and democratic form of communication - a mindshift away from product marketing and toward the exploration of self and production of a new kind of meaning one that can't be bought or sold. The scope of debate is bounding and grayed... most will scoff at what i say out of fear of them selves shrinking and conforming; we must expand and free. Consumerism is running uncontested; it must be challenged by other perspectives expressed, in part, through the visual languages and resources of design and conquer, adapt and destroy, lets bring back that what it originally once stood for. Cultural decline of our sports is self mockery and is now becoming a crock pot or marketing soup which cares only for the fisters who want to spoon your cash. I say move beyond this, push past, pick up and step back... look at the history and respect the intentions they had. The original attitude/drive would be spiting in the face of these fat cats. Lets repair the foundation our fore fathers made... adopt a DIY (do it yourself) attitude and know your own spirits reward... bring on your own steez... follow your own dreams, or just assimilate and drive the global market on to an Orwellian life bring our sports down with it. This is not some punk movement or a marketing ploy we ask only to search with in... draw your own lines... and set your own place, don't be a another brick in the wall... freedom... progression... self awareness... unbreakable spirit. Here or there question everything everywhere, especially the inane ramblings this manifesto brings to a table of thieves. If you find nothing here find it elsewhere but never stop looking and never give up. This is about life.

V.I.T.R.I.O.L.(U.M.)
Visita interioraterrae, rectificandoque, invenies occultum lapidem, which means: "visit the interior of the earth, and rectifying it, you will find the hidden stone." Some times this acronym appears with the addition of U.M. at the end, which means, veram medicinam, the true medicine. If one takes this advice metaphorically, the meaning conveyed is that, one must search within oneself, as the truth is hidden there, and this truth is the real solution to our problems.

this is simply an art form of words
To launch a manifesto you have to want: A.B. & C., and fulminate against 1, 2, & 3,

work yourself up and sharpen you wings to conquer and circulate lower and upper case As, Bs & Cs, sign, shout, swear, organize prose into a form that is absolutely and irrefutably obvious, and yours... prove its ne plus ultra and maintain that Integrity.

* To impose one's A.B.C. is only natural - and therefore regrettable. Everyone does it in the form of a crystalbluff-madonna, or a monetary system, or pharmaceutical preparation. The love of novelty is a pleasant sort of cross, it's evidence of a naive don't-give-a-damn attitude, a passing, positive, sign without rhyme or reason. But this need is out of date, too. By giving art the impetus of supreme simplicity - novelty - we are being human and true in relation to innocent pleasures; impulsive and vibrant in order to crucify boredom.

* I am writing a manifesto and there's nothing I want, and yet I'm saying certain things, and in principle I am against manifestos.

I'm writing this manifesto to show that you can perform contrary actions at the same time, in one single, fresh breath; I am against action; as for it's continual contradiction, and affirmation too, I am neither for nor against them, and I won't explain myself because common sense is dictated in the eye of the beholder and a narrow plank to walk while the on lookers poke away.

If we consider it futile, and if we don't waste our time with words that have meaning... then what right do we have and what life do we live... I've said too much and yet not enough.

The above form has many crutches and this I cannot allow myself credit.
